Man Narrates How He Defrauded Bishop Oyedepo, Otudeko, Others Of Millions Of Naira By Impersonating Bishop Kukah

image

Jehu Kwasu
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old graduate of political science, Jehu Kwasu for impersonating the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Matthew Kukah and defrauding prominent Nigerians of millions of Naira.
According to PUNCH, the suspect, who is the son of late Anglican Bishop, James Kwasu said his victims included Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church Worldwide; the Chairman of Honeywell Group, Oba Otudeko; Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu; and businessman,Alhaji Aminu Dantata.
He said Oyedepo gave him N500,000, Otudeko gave him N1m, Kanu gave him N500,000, and Dantata gave him N2m. “
“I collected N500,000 from Otudeko, CEO, Honeywell: From Admiral Kanu, I got N500,000. I also got N500,000 from Bishop Oyedepo and N2m from Dantata. I also got money from General Wushishi and others.
I opened a Guaranty Trust Bank account in Bishop Kukah’s name. I registered a SIM card in
my name, but used Bishop Kukah’s picture on my True Caller account, so that when I call, his picture would appear (on the recipient’s phone.),” he said, adding that he allegedly collected the money for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
The report stated that the suspect said that he realised over N5.7m. Police sources said that N1.7m was found in his account, adding that he spent most of the money he made on girls and hard drugs.
“I also obtained a passport in Bishop Kukah’s name
which I used to open an account with GTB. The money I realized was paid into the account and I used an Automated Teller Machine card to withdraw it,” the suspect said
The suspect also used his father’s name to defraud the Governor of Katsina state, Aminu Masari, when he (Masari) was the Speaker of the House of representatives.
The suspect had been arrested and remanded in prison for impersonating one Bishop Steven Akobe of the Anglican Diocese of Kabba, Kogi State, for attempting to defraud former Senate President, David Mark.
Kwasu said that “(David) Mark said I should come for some money, so I sent my girlfriend. But she was arrested and I was taken to court and sentenced to two months imprisonment or N9,000 fine.”
He was later granted bail.
According to Muhammad Mustafa, the FCT Commissioner of Police, Kukah complained to the police after he was alerted to the scam.
The police then asked the bank to place a “No Debit Order” on the account, which made Kwasu visit the bank to complain.
He was arrested when he got to the bank.
“We received a petition from Bishop Kukah alleging that the boy had been impersonating him and extorting money from prominent people. So, my men went to work and were able to track the suspect and arrest him. He is a habitual criminal and I would like to advise the public against responding to emails or phone calls from unknown persons requesting financial support for one cause or the other,” Mustapha said.
PUNCH stated that the suspect is serving a two- month sentence in the Keffi Prison

Hip-Hop artist Propaganda is not just an emcee, but
also a prolific spoken word artist. Recently, the
Legacy Conference became the home of one of his
newest and perhaps most powerful spoken word
pieces, “20 Years.”

Propaganda cleverly uses the guise of a woman in an abusive relationship to paint a picture of
American turmoil, war, and racial tensions.
As the story unravels, the audience becomes more
vocal as they are able to connect the dots and see
where Propaganda is taking this story.

Chibok Girls’ Matter Is A Scam – WOWICCN

image

The Women’s Wing of the Christian Council
of Nigeria (WOWICCN), Friday, described as a big
scam the issue surrounding the abduction of the
over 200 girls from Chibok in Borno State.
On the night of 14–15 April 2014, 276 female
students were reportedly kidnapped by the Boko
Haram terrorist group from the Government
Secondary School in the town of Chibok in Borno
State, Nigeria.

The matter so far had been politicized, as the group,
currently championing the safe release of the
abducted girls, Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG), are
now clashing with pro-federal government
protesters when they held peaceful rally recently to
pressurise the government.

Speaking in an interview with newsmen at the 2nd
Bi-Ennial National Convention of the WOWICCN
tagged; ‘Women; Goodly Heritage’ in Abuja, the
National President of the group, Rev. Mrs. Omatsola
Williams said people are now using it to promote
themselves and pocket.
“For me o’, I don’t believe that there is Chibok girl.
We should not use the life of people to play
‘Jambo’ (game) at all. Some people are using this to
make money. Ah ha! How tick is the Sambisa forest
is it that people cannot penetrate?
“Food for thought; when you come to Niger Delta
Area, there is no secret. Let Nigerians do not toil
with Nigerians, because before they know it,
women will arise and they will see the other side of
women,” he said.

On the current economic situation in Nigeria, Mrs
Williams said that it is high time we all returned to
the drawing board and make use of ‘our God given
talents’, adding that the country had a lot of
opportunities if well harnessed will turn around the
fortune of the people for better.
She said; “Let all of us go back to the drawing
board, and forget about oil. Nigeria is a blessed
country, a fertile land that has a lot of opportunities
to tap. We have forgotten, even the talents giving to
us, we don’t want to use it.
“Now is the time, the era of white-collar jobs is over.
If you recall, how did Japan grow after the
Hiroshima war? They had nothing but hand work.
With determination and self development, they built
up Japan. Is Japan no controlling the world today?
Nigeria! We can even do better.”

In his remarks, the National President of the
Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN), Rev. Emmanuel
Udofia challenged leaders and parents in the
country to live by example.
Represented by Rev J.B. Folorunsho, the Cleric
maintained that both the led and the leaders in the
country had a duty to move the country forward.

Also speaking, the Chairman of CCN in the Federal
capital territory (FCT), Rev. Ini Ikpuho said some
parents got it wrong when they thought the best
thing to leave behind for their children is wealth.
He maintained that wealth would finish but
inculcating godliness and contentment into young
one would live from generation to generation.
According to him, “no amount of wealth you can
leave behind for your children that will not finish.
So, the greater thing to leave behind for your
children is goodly heritage. It is not enough for us
to tell our children about God but they should be
able to see God in us.”
